L I F E S T Y L E: Tom and Keidi Photo Session

(Forever 21 shirt, vintage belt, American Apparel skirt, vintage Coach bag, thrifted shoes.)

Hi guys, I thought I'd do a quick post from a beautiful photo session I had with the wonderfully talented Tom and Keidi. We went to a cherry picking field which had the most gorgeous scenery I've ever seen in my life. I can't wait to go there again, for photos or cherry picking.

I'm hoping to get some outfit posts up like normal but, I've been a bit busy lately working on an online shop that I'm helping open with a friend. It's going to have some fantastically eccentric pieces that I think you guys will love. I can't wait to show you guys it once it's up and running.

Until next time...which I hope is very soon!

L I F E S T Y L E: My Week in Instagram

Things have been pretty hectic lately so I thought I'd do another Instagram post. This week has been filled with meetings in coffee shops, baking cupcakes for birthday parties, and late nights drinking wine by the river (which results in me tripping over the brick sidewalks and busting my knee).

The highlights of the week though has been the trip to a local flea market where I found some cool items. I'm an obsessive owl, book and jewelry collector so I picked up some while out there. I also came across a vintage Coach bag which I snagged for five bucks, which I later found out runs for around two hundred. I've also been picking up pieces to start up an Etsy shop with a friend of mine. So far we have some beautiful pieces that I think will go to a good home.

Yesterday I also had a photo shoot where I was in front of the camera instead of my usual spot behind the camera. The talented duo Tom and Keidi asked to take my picture in a beautiful cherry field. I'm really excited about the results although I know I made an awkward model because I usually just stand in place with a blank expression wondering what to do.

(H&M shoes and shirt, Thrifted skirt, Daisy by Marc Jacobs tote bag, Forever 21 belt.)

I can't believe that I've managed to blog TWICE in only one month. The blogging Gods have spoken and I just may be more frequent with my posts now. Thank the Lord.

This blog post probably wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't watched Clothes Encounters for twelve hours last week. I only say that because I picked up some tips on better thrifting thus helping me find better pieces for my wardrobe after successfully selling 3/4 of my closet last week. So thank you ladies, or now just one lady, from Clothes Encounters, you helped me actually find some cute things while thrifting for once in my life.

Obviously this outfit is inspired by Marc Jacobs, who by the way has really disappointed me with his last collection. Once I picked up this skirt at the local Salvation Army I just knew it was meant to be with my peter pan collar shirt which I've had for months but never got around to wearing. I also knew it belonged with my trusty tote by Marc Jacobs.

Here's to hoping that I continue to update my blog on a weekly, possibly daily, basis. Thanks again for sticking around to those of you who read this when I actually post.

(Mod Dolly dress, Daisy by Marc Jacobs bag, Forever 21 belt, H&M shoes.)

I've been dying to show you guys this dress from Mod Dolly, which I had conveniently found on the Chictopia website, but when I bought it back in March it was too cold to wear. Normally I would have thrown on a pair of tights and leather jacket, but for some reason my trusty leather jacket doesn't look right with it. Anyways, when I bought this I was really impressed by the selection in this shop, the extremely fast shipping and super sweet helpful owner who also happens to be a blogger. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying from this shop again very soon.

This Daisy by Marc Jacobs tote actually came along as a "gift" with the perfume, which is my favorite. You can't really tell, but woven into the bag are gold threads to give it a bit of a sparkle. It's a summer staple for me now.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately, it's been to hectic, but I say that every time. So I will just try to promise again to post more outfit pictures in the future. This Sunday I will be going to visit some friends in Philly so I can guarantee that I will have a post about that next week.

I hope you're all well and thank you for still "following" my blog!

O B S E S S E D: Nasty Gal's Perfect Braid Crown

Nasty Gal moto jacket, Forever 21 top, Dolce & Gabbana glasses.

I've been reading Nasty Gal's blog pretty frequently and I came across a post they made with a tutorial showing you how to master the perfect braid crown. I'm really not the best at hair styling, I usually resort to just leaving my hair completely down with the occasional braided pigtails, but I thought I'd give this a try.

What do you guys think? Do you think you'll be trying this hair style out this summer?

L I F E S T Y L E: My Week in Instagram

I've been waiting AGES to do an Instagram post. I love when bloggers do these kinds of posts because you get a glimpse of the normal every day life all of you guys go through. Candid photos are always the best in opinion and Instagram makes it so easy to document daily moments in that nature.

This was basically my entire week through Instagram. Last Friday I photographed an event at an art gallery, which was one of the best art exhibits that I've ever gone to. (Not just because my boyfriend bought me an adorable owl that night.)

Saturday was when I celebrated Cinco de Mayo with one of my best friends, aww look how adorable we are in that typical mirror iPhone picture. Then you see some random crack den art that my husband and I found today before we had fish tacos at one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city. Afterwards, we hit up my favorite vintage shop where I found a "kinky" shirt that I deeply regret not buying because it is so awesome/hilarious/awkward.

I hope you enjoyed this mini glimpse into my Instagram life.

Forever 21 blouse, American Apparel skirt, gifted bag, Target shoes.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, even though we aren't in Mexico and it's not really our holiday to celebrate just another excuse for all of us Americans to get drunk! I hope you're all recovering well this morning and are enjoying my more frequent blog posts!

I'm going out of my personal comfort zone outfit-wise with more color, silhouettes and even flats; which I haven't truly worn at all this year. I also topped the outfit off with one of the many sombreros that were found at HMAC, also known as Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center, where I spent most of last night. Earlier this week I had a table reserved so I could be closer to the front to capture pictures of the bands playing. Unfortunately, I missed some of the later bands because I had other plans to see some good friends of mine.

By the way, I'm sure most of you have seen Malcolm in the Middle at least once in your life, well Frankie Muniz (Malcolm) plays in a band in the area now and he was actually at this show. My boyfriend cleverly pointed out that since he is the drummer for the band he must still be 'in the middle'. Trivia note, I'm extremely petite, hence the name of my blog, and many of my friends pointed out that I am most likely taller than Frankie Muniz. It was a Cinco de Mayo miracle, I never thought that'd I see someone shorter than me aside from children.

Anyways, thank you for putting up with the long gaps in between posts. I promise to change this and be a good blogger to you all who actually read this.

By the way, HOLY FREAKING CRAP how did I get 222 'chic points' on my last Chictopia post? That is just insane. When I first saw it I thought there was a glitch in the system. If it wasn't a glitch, thanks guys!

Forever 21 dress, vintage cuff, gifted mint bag, H&M wedges.

Sorry for being so MIA lately. It has been almost impossible to get daily photos of my outfits. Hopefully this will change soon and I will be the frequent blogger that I have always hoped to be. I'll be back to my regular outfit of the day posts by this weekend.

These photos were taken by the very talented photographer Amanda Leilani. I had to go with a very basic outfit because it was almost ninety degrees out which is pretty insane for the middle of April. I've been acquiring some vintage band shirts that I'm hoping to show off with my high waisted skirts and leather jacket. Eventually even some high waisted jeans if I ever come across a pair that I don't hate.

In a few days I will also be going to a huge vintage warehouse where I will probably go into a shopping coma because of vast selection they have. You'll be seeing hundreds of pieces from multiple shopping trips there if I have anything to do with it. I may even do a 'shop with me' post there if there's good enough lighting.

Until next time...

L I F E S T Y L E: Around the Apartment

It's been so incredibly windy outside that it's impossible to get any outfit photos lately. So I thought that I may snap a few photos around my apartment and some new pieces that will be included in upcoming looks.

The mint bag in the first photo is one of the few "trendy" items that I own, it actually came along with a subscription to a magazine. Lately I've been wearing it out to the bar and when I need my hands free. It's actually become a staple in my wardrobe. In the second photo is a dress that I am SO excited to show off because it is just so perfect. I call it my 'Beetlejuice' dress although my coworkers playfully call it my 'referee' dress. I've also included a photo of my adorable cacti that my boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day. A lot of the cacti have been blooming and extending themselves!

On Sunday I have a photo session planned out with a very talented photographer who I respect a lot. I feel very privileged to have her take some of my outfit photos and I can't wait for you all to see her work! Hopefully my bangs will have grown out and evened themselves out so I can look my best.

PS:  It's been a long time since I've gotten into new music, but I highly recommend Making Mirrors by Gotye. This is the first album that I've bought in about a year and I don't regret it one bit.

O B S E S S E D: Karen Walker Eyewear

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how awesome this lookbook for Karen Walker's Eyewear is? The lookbook is titled Karen's Little Aliens and you can take a look at it yourself right here. I decided to only show my favorite shades even though they are all pretty amazing.

I'm actually on the look out for my first pair of prescription sunglasses and I have my eye on the style called Taxi (third photo) preferably in black or tortoise. For a while I thought that I may want a pair of classic Ray-Bans, but a cat eye frame is so appealing and much more flattering for my face shape.

Once I finally decide on a pair, which has been taking me about a year now, I will definitely show them off on here as soon as possible.

What do you think of Karen's Little Aliens?

O B S E S S E D: Dramatic Hair Accessories

Rodarte FW 2012, Givenchy inspired street style, Dolce & Gabbana FW 2012

I've always loved hair accessories even when I was younger. I was one of those girls who had the butterfly clips all in their hair in the nineties, crimped hair, beanies, scrunchies, and even cornrows. Over the years I've stopped experimenting with different hair accessories. I even stopped wearing hats for a few years.

The main reason was everything was a little too much with my statement glasses, which I love, but they make it difficult to wear anything else from the shoulders up. Recently I've begun to feel more comfortable with certain styles of hats and I even bought a rose headpiece. I've just realized that I need to find pieces that are dramatic to my liking, but doesn't look too gaudy with my specs.

This brings me to the images above, lately on the runway there have been some absolutely beautiful headpieces that I can't wait to get my hands on. Just the other day I bought a Givenchy inspired spiked headpiece and I'm already brainstorming on how to wear it with my peter pan collar dresses and AC/DC vintage t-shirt; two separate looks of course.

I'm still on the hunt for something similar to the Rodarte star cluster headpiece. As for the Dolce & Gabbana hair accessories, I think that will be much harder to find. They remind me so much of something that a modern day Frida Kahlo would wear.

Are there any runway hair accessories that you're loving right now?
